QuickMatch Tournament Planned After the Release of Patch 2 for T&P
I am planning on creating and hosting a QuickMatch Tournament after the official release of T&P's Patch 2.
I will provide a QMT website and server just for the occasion. I am awaiting further word to see if Big Huge Games will sponsor the event. On that note, I am asking for any volunteers who would like to help me with the website or be a part of the QMT staff to help with the event. If so, please e-mail me at: QMTmoderator@gmail.com
I will provide exact details of the event when the website is completed. Official sign-ups and registration as well as rules will be provided at that time. As for now, here is the basic information about the QMT events.
There will be 3 Rounds for the QuickMatch Tournament.:
Round 1 Monthly: Is a no-holds barred competition in the QuickMatch room that will last for exactly one month. All participants will need a new GameSpy name with a QMT tag before their name. The official QMT tag will be announced at the start of the QMT Round 1 event for fairness. All players will have to play at least 30 Rated games within the month to qualify for a prize (At least 21 Rated games will be needed to qualify for entry into Rounds 2 and 3). An example of the QMT tag will look like this:
Prizes will be awarded for the Top 10 finishers of Round 1.
Round 1 (Expert): Is a Weekend Round-Robin event where the 4th place finisher of Round 1 Monthly plays one game apiece against the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place finisher of Round 1 Monthly. If the 4th place finisher wins their game, they win 25% of the earnings from their opponent, while their opponent loses 25% of their earnings. If the 4th place finisher loses, they get nothing! Here's rooting for the underdog!
Round 2 (Advanced): Is a Weekend Tournament after the end of Round 1 Monthly. The Top 4 finishers of Round 1 Monthly are not allowed in this event. Only QMT players with a 2000+ rating (actually, the rating split won't be determined until after Round 1 Monthly has ended) are allowed to participate in Round 2. Places 5-6 from Round 1 Monthly get a BYE to the QuarterFinals, and Places 7-10 from Round 1 Monthly get a BYE to the Round before QuarterFinals. Seedings will be based on QMT ratings from Round 1 Monthly.
Prizes will be awarded for the Top 10 finishers of Round 2.
Round 3 (Intermediate): Is a Weekend Tournament after the end of Round 1 Monthly, taking place at the same time as Round 2. Only QMT players with a rating below 2000 (again, the rating split won't be determined until after Round 1 Monthly has ended) are allowed to participate in Round 3. Seedings will be based on QMT ratings from Round 1 Monthly.
Prizes will be awarded for the Top 16 finishers of Round 3.
I will announce more news about it in the future, this event is only in it's planning stage at the moment.
